How To Tame The Worst Dragon Breath

More than ½ of Americans state oral health plays a huge role in intimacy. TODAY gathered some experts to help you keep your mouth (and breath) smelling

1. Dragon Breath Is A Real Problem

A recent study showed 60% of U.S.adults with partners said their partner’s teeth, gums, and breath affects their intimacy.

2. It’s Not Just Enough To Brush And Floss

You have to do both correctly. A buildup of bacteria and plaque can lead to bad breath. Try to thoroughly brush and floss 2-3 times a day.

3. Ever Hear Of A Tongue Scraper?

If you haven’t, look it up. These tools can help eliminate the plaque and food bits that stick to your tongue.

4. Visit Your Dentist Twice A Year

It’s been drilled into your head since childhood. There’s a reason for that. There are some dental problems only a dentist and / or x-rays can detect.

5. Drink A Lot Of Water

Bad breath can caused by a number of health conditions. A dry mouth lacks the saliva that contains antibacterial properties. Acid reflux can also cause bad breath … as can post nasal drip. By increasing the amount of water you drink, you may be able to offset some the development of dragon breath.

6. Watch What You Eat

It’s not just avoiding smelly foods, it’s eating crunchy ones too. Some foods, such as onions, garlic and even coffee, have smells that can stay in our mouths for up to 72 hours. Crunchy foods increase saliva production. Saliva is very good for your teeth, as it contains a lot of antibacterial properties.

7. Smoker’s Breath

Why is smoking so bad? The particles get stuck in your mouth, throat and lungs for hours. There’s chemicals in the tobacco that add to the smell. Smoking also dries out your mouth.
